Hey gals, and guys!!

Today I want to talk about…skin, our largest organ but often the one we overlook. So many of us, myself included (until recent years), take so much care into what we put IN to our bodies, eating healthy food and making time to exercise, but not enough love is put in when it comes to what we lather ON to our skin, and it is after all our largest organ!! I started really thinking about what I put on my skin a couple of years ago (around the time I gave up meat, dairy and eggs which was…2015 I think,  the year my conscience kicked in and a pretty life-changing year for me) and I decided to use only natural, organic products, free from chemicals and DEFINITELY NOT tested on little furries!! I cannot stand the thought of animal testing and think it is completely unnecessary in today’s world so where possible I try my best to only use products I know are cruelty-free. Here are the signs to look out for to make sure your products are ethical…

OK, now that I’ve got the nitty gritty out of the way and probably made you all go running to check for the bunny sign on your cosmetics we can move on to. So,  here’s my day-to-day, week-to-week products that I just couldn’t live without.

  • TROPIC Hot Cloth Cleanse. I look forward to steaming my face with this every day!
  • SUKIN Super Green Recovery Serum, like a smoothie for your face
  • TROPIC Skin Revive Cream Concentrate Moisturiser for morning
  • TROPIC Night Repair Moisturiser for night (this smells AMAZING!!) or…
  • Rose Hip Seed Oil, this is great for anti-ageing and acne scarring. Try to find 100% where possible with no added preservatives (I just see how my skins feeling on an evening and decide on my night cream or oil)
  • TROPIC Eye Refresh Cooling Gel Roll-On in the morning (I keep it in the fridge, great for taming the bags!!)
  • TROPIC Eye Revive Age-Defying Cream at night

  • TROPIC Face Smooth Brightening Polish (exfoliator)
  • TROPIC Clear Skin Blemish Fighting Mask

My skin is pretty much combination, I have oily days then I have weeks where my skin feels mega dry and de-hydrated or sometimes a mixture of both (pretty up and down, a little like my mood swings now I think about it) but these products seem to work for me either way. Also bare in mind that it’s not just the products we use that effect our skin, what we eat has a massive impact on this too!!

TROPIC SKINCARE was my first step to cruelty-free, natural skincare heaven and they haven’t failed me yet. I just adore all of their products, every time I use them I feel pampered and glowy and the gorgeous plant-y goodness smells are just divine. OK you get it, I love TROPIC.

SUKIN isn’t actually certified organic and there are still some chemical ingredients in their products, such as skin conditioning agents and preservatives. However, from what I understand, these products are still a good alternative to most general brands. Also, on their website Sukin say that “We preserve our products only where necessary in the interest of human health and protection against contamination.  All preservatives are included within recommended usage levels as outlined by the relevant parties in Australia, the US, EU and Japan, and all have long-proven safety records.” So, they aren’t the most natural product but over all  not a bad choice if you’re on a budget. I spend a small fortune on skincare so when I found these products at a really affordable price I was like HELL YEAA, and on the plus side Sukin products have no sodium lauryl sulphate, synthetic fragrances, animal derivatives, harsh detergents, propylene glycol, artificial colours or parabens and they are 100% vegan and 100% carbon neutral. This vitamin packed Serum is a super green blend including extracts of Kale, Spirulina, Chlorella and Parsley, Cocoa Butter, Grape Seed Oil, Avocado Oil, Carrot Seed Oil. Great for giving some goodness back to your face!!

And thats pretty much it, I love discovering and trying new products but tend to come back to these trusty staples!!

What are your skincare routines? I’d love to hear about the products you’re using, or any that you’ve tried, tested and loved or hated!!

Namaste xx
