I’ve had a super long week at work and my skin is NOT thanking me for it. My holiday glow has definitely left the building!! My skin is always what gives me away, if I’m tired, stressed, hormonal, it’ll be the first to let you know! Its pretty all over the show too, one minute i have clear skin and I’m thinking I’m doing great, looking great, loving life then BAM I’m hit with the spot stick and have a big breakout. I’m also prone to dry patches…or oily patches too actually. OK, you get it, my skin likes to let it be heard when I’ve not been looking after myself from time to time so best to treat it well and give it a good pampering tailored to suit its current mood (if only men accepted our mood swings and treated us for being hormonal life would be that little bit simpler for everyone!!)
I like to treat my skin to a mask, usually once a week, and I decide which to go for depending on how my skin is that week. Below are my tried, tested and always in my bathroom essential masks;
I love this mask, it controls sebum levels and prevents break outs so I try to use this at least once every two weeks, more if my skins feeling too oily. It contains lots of amazing ingredients to keep them spots at bay, such as:
• Willow bark and ginger extracts kill blemish-causing bacteria
• Green clay and spirulina draw out toxins and tighten pores
• Charcoal and goji berry extracts reduce redness and calm skin
It dries and tightens on your face aswell which I love, it really feels like its working and gives you a great excuse to sit, relax and not have to talk to anyone for 15-20 mins (sorryyyy can’t talk i can’t move my face!!)
I pull this bad boy out when i feel like my skins looking a bit dull and ‘grey’. It really rejuvenates tired looking skin as it resurfaces and it’s also full of super nourishing vitamins and antioxidants that help promote your skins natural cell renewal process. And let’s face it, when you pass a certain point in life you need the help!!
This is my go-to mask when I just want to relax and pamper myself. It’s really soothing and is a great moisture boost when you need a little pick me up!
Also, they donate a portion of their profits to The Yes To Seed Fund, “a U.S. 501(c)3 non-profit organisation, on a mission to make a difference in people’s lives by providing under-served communities with the resources to develop and sustain an organic food source and access to healthy nutrition. The Yes To Seed Fund assists these communities by providing donations to help with seeds, plants, equipment, irrigation support and technical know-how.” It’s nice to think that while you’re looking after your skin your money is also going to a good cause. Everyone’s a winner!!
So there you have my three all time favourite face masks! I always try to stick with brands that use almost all natural, organic ingredients that aren’t harmful to my skin and that do not test on animals! Look out for the bunny logo!!
Hope you found this interesting, let me know what you think of any of these products and brands or if you have any other life changing face masks to suggest, i’m always looking for new products to try!!
